A more detailed orientation schedule will be handed out when you arrive for your session. Below is a preview of what you can expect as a new student.
Winter Orientation Schedule
General Schedule
- Arrival and Registration:
Pick up your schedule and materials for your orientation. - Small Group Academic Meeting:
Meet with your student counselor and other new students to prepare for your upcoming advising appointment, and find out more about course planning and registration. - College/School General Meetings:
Learn about your academic niche and hear from the Dean of your college. - Advising and Registration:
Talk to an advisor in your department and register for your spring classes using SPIRE.
- General Information Drop-In:
Stop by to pick information on campus resources and get answers to your questions.
- Foreign Language Placement Exam:
- Campus Tours:
Check out the campus and learn where to go. - Get your UCard Picture Taken:
More than an ID, this is your library card, meal ticket, residence hall key, and if you so choose, an on-campus debit card.
For students with three or more years of French, Spanish, German, and/or Latin.
