Directions, Maps and Parking

Getting here

The UMass Amherst website has a great section on campus maps and directions that will give you everything you need. You will also find links to information on planes, trains, and buses (in case you plan to let someone else do the driving or flying).

Parking

The only place to park during one-day Orientation sessions (January Orientation) is the Campus Center Parking Garage. You MUST park here to avoid ticketing in the "permit only" lots. You will receive a “one-time exit” pass.

Getting around on campus

You can get anywhere on campus by foot, and it's not a bad walk into downtown Amherst either. If you get tired along the way, you can always hop on a bus. The Transit Service website has more details.

The Visitor's Center

The Robsham Memorial Center for Visitors is the first stop for anyone coming to check out UMass Amherst. They have easy parking and plenty of information to help you find your way around. They also provide tours of the campus. For more information, go to the Visitors Center web site.

Quick Bites & Fine Dining

The first place to look for food is on campus. Visitors may eat at any of UMass Amherst retail dining centers. Check out the Dining Services website to explore your options.

For those of you who want to find food off campus, visit the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce or the Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce for extensive lists of area restaurants.
