Orientation Dates

The New Students Orientation session dates are listed below.

Freshman Summer Orientation

The Freshman summer orientation is 2 1/2 days long and is packed with social activities, meetings, and the business of requesting your residential areas and deciding what classes you want to take.

Fall 2008 Freshman Orientation dates are:
  • June 8-10 (CLOSED)
  • June 11-13 (CLOSED)
  • June 15-17 (CLOSED)
  • June 18-20 (CLOSED)
  • June 25-27 (CLOSED)
  • June 29-July 1 (CLOSED)
  • July 6-8 (CLOSED)
  • July 9-11
  • July 13-15

Transfer and Stockbridge Students Summer Orientation

The Transfer and Stockbridge summer orientation is a very full 1 1/2 days. While most of the time is spent taking care of the business of becoming a member of the UMass Amherst community, you will also spend time getting to know your new classmates and your new campus.

Fall 2008 Transfer Orientation dates are:
  • July 16-17
  • July 17-18
  • July 20-21
  • July 21-22
Fall 2008 Stockbridge Orientation date is:
  • July 1-2

Orientation requests are processed on a first come, first served basis and only after we’ve received your Enrollment Form and fee.

When to Arrive

Sessions begin at 6:30 p.m. so plan to arrive at your session by 6:15 p.m. to sign-in, receive your room assignment, and move into your room.

Check-Out Time

Orientation ends between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM on the last day of the session. Please arrange your transportation in advance, so you can check out of the residence hall on time.
