Fourth of July Celebration Hosted by UMass Amherst

UMass Amherst again hosted the Town of Amherst's annual Independence Day fireworks celebration on the campus fields behind McGuirk Alumni Stadium. In addition to the fireworks, which started about 9:30 p.m., festivities included musical entertainment, a children's carnival, face painting, a pie-eating contest and hot-air balloon rides.
