UMass Amherst to Celebrate Life of the Late Randolph W. Bromery

AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Amherst will honor and celebrate the life of the late Randolph W. Bromery on Friday, May 17 from 2-4:30 p.m. in the Marriott Center on the 11th floor of the Campus Center. The memorial event will be hosted by UMass Amherst Chancellor Kumble Subbaswamy.Bromery, who served as chancellor of the Amherst campus from 1971-79 and was Commonwealth Professor emeritus of geophysics, died Feb. 26 at the age of 87. After retiring from UMass, Bromery served as interim president of Westfield State College, chancellor of the state Board of Regents for Higher Education, president of Springfield College and president of Roxbury Community College.
