Hang Xiao’s research is focused on identifying and finding applications for potential disease preventive dietary components (nutraceuticals). His research includes elucidating their molecular mechanisms; investigating possible synergistic interactions among these dietary components and commonly used pharmacological compounds; and enhancing biological activities and bioavailability of dietary components by food processing and nanotechnology. The long-term goal of this research is developing diet-based strategies for the prevention of chronic diseases.
