Stephen Sireci’s research focuses on improving educational testing to better measure students’ knowledge and skills. Concentrating on the particular issues of validity, cross-lingual assessment, standard setting and computer-based testing, he aims to better assist education administrators on how to productively use testing, and why not to use tests for purposes beyond which they are designed, such as evaluating public school teachers.
Sireci is on several education advisory committees, including committees for Texas and Puerto Rico, and is a fellow of the American Educational Research Association and the American Psychological Association, and was previously a co-editor of the International Journal of Testing and the Journal of Applied Testing Technology.
