Erin Baker is a professor in the department of mechanical and industrial engineering and director of the Wind Energy Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT). Her research aims to inform policymakers how to make decisions on energy technology in face of climate change and how to apply operations research methods to environmental and energy economics and policy. She has also studied how uncertainty impacts global climate change policy in a strategic environment, the economics of distributed generation and the interplay between energy and development in Africa.
