At the invitation of the Organization of American Historians, history professor Christian Appy has written a series of articles about the new 10-part, 18-hour documentary "The Vietnam War" by Ken Burns and his colleague Lynn Novick, which premieres on PBS Sept. 17.

The first of Appy’s seven articles was posted on the OAH blog on Sept.14. The the first article is here.

Appy also was recently featured in a new podcast from PRI, "LBJ’s War," which tells the story of Presiodent Lyndon B. Johnson’s fall from grace through secretly taped White House phone calls and rare archival interviews with those who were there when this history was being made, and who had a hand in its making. Appy lent his expertise on Vietnam in the second episode of the series, “The Tonkin Incident(s),” which examines the 1964 attack and resolution.
