UMass Press Director Discusses 45 Years of Publishing History in Video Interview

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massaschuetts Press Director Bruce Wilcox discusses the press and its 45 years of publishing history in a new video interview. The press is the subject of a special exhibit in the Du Bois Library at UMass Amherst that runs through Aug. 31.

The exhibit showcases various aspects of the press’ publishing program, including award-winning titles; culture, politics and the cold war; Renaissance studies; environmental science; regional and local titles; creative writing, and faculty authors.

Founded in 1963, the University of Massachusetts Press is the book-publishing arm of the University of Massachusetts. Its mission is to publish first-rate books, edit them carefully, design them well, and market them vigorously. In so doing, it supports and enhances the university's role as a major research institution. Since its inception, the press has sold more than 2 million volumes to customers worldwide. Today, it has over 900 titles in print.
