Pittsfield Resident Jared Carchedi Receives 2008 Amy E. Trice MBA Scholarship

June 30, 2008

AMHERST, Mass. – Jared Carchedi of Pittsfield, a self-employed landscape contractor who is enrolled in the part-time master of business administration program run by the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, is the 2008 recipient of the Amy E. Trice MBA Scholarship.

The $1,000 award to Carchedi, who is scheduled to finish his MBA studies in 2009, was announced at the Isenberg School’s awards banquet in May.

Carchedi says he is very pleased to have been selected for the scholarship award. “Receiving a part-time MBA from the Isenberg School will give me the knowledge and skills I need to successfully operate and expand my business.”

The scholarship is named after former Pittsfield resident and UMass alumna, Amy E. Trice, who received her bachelor’s degree from UMass Amherst in 1991 and her MBA through the Pittsfield program in 1999. It was established in 2000 by the Trice Family Foundation to support a matriculated part-time student in the graduate program at the Isenberg School and preference is given to a student from the Pittsfield program. The scholarship is awarded annually.

The part-time MBA program is offered online and at Pittsfield, Shrewsbury and Holyoke sites.
