Governor Patrick and the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center to Announce Major Capital Grants for Projects in the Pioneer Valley

What: Governor Deval Patrick will join the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) and officials from the University of Massachusetts tomorrow to announce more than $100 million in grants for life-sciences-related capital projects in the Pioneer Valley. Through the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, Massachusetts is investing $1 billion over 10 years in the growth of the state’s life sciences supercluster. These investments are being made under the Massachusetts Life Sciences Initiative, proposed by Governor Patrick in 2007, and passed by the State Legislature and signed into law by Governor Patrick in 2008.

 

A reception will be held following the speaking program.

 

Who: Governor Patrick and the MLSC, as well as Massachusetts State Senate Majority Leader Stan Rosenberg, Massachusetts State Representative Ellen Story and representatives from UMass Amherst, will be present to celebrate this announcement.
