Xing Cited by ASA for Contributions to Chinese Agriculture

Baoshan Xing, professor and director of environmental and soil chemistry in the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, has been chosen to receive the Kingenta Agricultural Science Award by the American Society of Agronomy.

The annual award recognizes those who have made significant contributions to Chinese agriculture with an emphasis on soil in research, teaching, extension and policy making, which result in securing better and sustainable food supply, implementing environmentally friendly management practices, and improving farmers’ working conditions and profitability. The award consists of a certificate and $1,000 honorarium provided through the Agronomic Science Foundation by Kingenta Inc. and administered by the American Society of Agronomy.

Xing will receive the award on Nov. 5 during the scientific society’s annual meeting in Tampa, Fla.
