The Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band will perform works assembled by conductor Laura Rexroth in concert on Saturday, March 5 at 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Concert Hall.
For the concert, Rexroth was inspired by nature, beauty and the music of prayer. Works include composer Dan Welcher’s “Zion,” Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Rhosymedre” and Fisher Tull’s “Sketches on a Tudor Psalm.” Morten Lauridsen’s choral setting of H. Robert Reynolds’ “O Magnum Mysterium” and the late astronomer and writer Carl Sagan’s “Shattering Suns” will also be played.
Admission is $10 general public, $5 students, senior citizens and children under 18. Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Center Box Office (545-2511).
