As part of the MFA Program’s Visiting Writers Series, John Edgar Wideman and Sejal Shah will read in Memorial Hall on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 8 p.m.
A former member of the English faculty, Wideman is a celebrated writer of both fiction and non-fiction, and is the recipient of many awards and honors including the O. Henry Award. He is currently a professor of Africana studies and literary arts at Brown University.
Shah is a writer and teacher of writing whose short stories, lyric essays and poems have been featured in books and articles. She currently teaches English at The Harley School in upstate New York, and creative writing at the University of Rochester.
