The Town-Gown Steering Committee of the university and the Town of Amherst will meet Tuesday, March 11 from 5-6:30 p.m. in the UMass Police Department community room to discuss which consultant to recommend for a joint planning contract.
Public comment will be heard from 5-5:30.
There are three finalists for a $60,000 contract to help develop a joint plan for the town and the university to partner on issues such as housing and economic development.
The finalists are czb of Alexandria, Va.; Fourth Economy Consulting of Pittsburgh, and U3 Advisors of Philadelphia in partnership with Corneil Collaborative and The Cecil Group. All were scheduled to be interviewed by the committee on March 4.
The committee recommendation will be sent to Amherst Town Manager John Musante and UMass Chancellor Kumble Subbaswamy for final approval.
