Volunteer marshals, aides, and ushers are needed for the 2005 Undergraduate Commencement on Sunday, May 22. Returning veterans and new volunteers are encouraged to participate.
Volunteers help to manage approximately 4,000 graduates and 22,000 guests. Approximately 60 marshals, 50 aides, and 40 ushers are needed.
Marshals organize graduates by school or college for the processional, escort graduates onto the field, and serve as field monitors. Aides greet guests as they enter the stadium, distribute programs, and help guests locate seating and other services. Ushers assist guests in the stands of the stadium with seating, directions and program information.
Orientation for volunteers is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, May 13, in Mahar Auditorium. A rehearsal for volunteers will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 20 at the stadium. On the day of Commencement, volunteers should be at the stadium between 8 and 8:30 a.m. Following the ceremony, volunteers will be transported at noon to Rafters for a complimentary thank you luncheon.
