AMHERST, Mass. – A public auction will be held online for anyone with a vehicle registered in Massachusetts for low and special numbers of the UMass Amherst license plate. The online auction starts on Sunday, March 16 at 9 a.m. and runs continuously through Sunday, March 23 at 5 p.m. Plate numbers 3 through 99 are available along with special plates 100, 123, 777, 911, 1001 and 2013 (some exclusions apply).

Winning bids are tax-deductible with auction proceeds benefiting scholarships and programs provided by the UMass Amherst Alumni Association that advance the flagship campus. The auction is open to the public; participants do not need to be members of the Alumni Association or affiliated with the university.
UMass license plates are available to the public at local MassDOT Registry of Motor Vehicles branches and online through the MassDOT website.
