UMass Amherst Will Host Symposium on the Role of City Planner March 2

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts will host a symposium titled "The Role of the Planner in the City" on Thurs., March 2 from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Procopio Room in Hills Central. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The event will feature a discussion with a panel of guests that includes Jack Hunter, Holyoke planning director; Linda Petrella, Springfield planning director; Tom Deller, former Providence, R.I., planning director; and Paul Dell''Aquila, Worcester city planner.

The symposium is being organized by the Massachusetts chapter of the American Planning Association (MAPA), the UMass department of landscape architecture and regional planning (LARP), and the UMass Student Planning Organization.

This event is the latest installment of MAPA''s "Planner''s Forum," where critical planning issues are discussed at universities across the commonwealth.
