AMHERST, Mass. – Students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst can now receive and pay their bills electronically using the QuikPay automated billing system.
Using QuikPay, students and their authorized payees, such as parents, guardians or employers, can view their bills and make payments online through a new secure site administered by NelNet Inc. The system was fully implemented on Dec. 12 after a trial period that began in October, according to Joyce Hatch, vice chancellor for administration and finance at UMass Amherst.
Students sign on to QuikPay through the SPIRE records system and are directed to a secure site to view, print or pay their bills online. Students can authorize their parents or guardians to view bills and make payments on their behalf as authorized payees. Students and their authorized payees receive e-mail notifications whenever a bill is ready for their review.
QuikPay posts electronic payments immediately to a student’s account, bypassing the need to mail in payments for processing by the bursar’s office. Payees receive immediate confirmation of the payment electronically and can view a history of prior bills.
