AMHERST, Mass. - Brian Mullen, the founder and CEO of Therapeutic Systems, will be the keynote speaker at the Grinspoon, Garvey & Young Conference on Entrepreneurship on Friday, Oct. 28 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield.
While completing his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Mullen led the development of the Therapeutic Systems’ Vayu Deep Pressure Vest, a device to help calm autistic children.
His invention won the UMass Amherst Innovation Challenge in 2008 and his company has been active in the campus’s Entrepreneurship Initiative sponsored by the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation. Therapeutic Systems is currently a finalist in the $1 million MassChallenge competition.
