Two UMass Amherst Students Receive Order of Omega Honors Society Scholarships

AMHERST, Mass. – Two University of Massachusetts Amherst students, Lauren Brown and Katie McNamara, have been awarded scholarships from the national Order of Omega.

The Order of Omega is a national society that recognizes men and women who have attained high standards of leadership and scholarship in fraternity or sorority life. The qualifications for membership encompass outstanding character, scholarship, service, campus involvement and leadership.

Brown is a theater major from the class of 2007 and a member of the Sigma Delta Tau sorority. She is currently on domestic exchange at the University of Southern California.

McNamara is a nursing and psychology major from the class of 2007. She is active on campus, including her role as vice president of membership for the Order of Omega, president of the Panhellenic Council and a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority.
