Town of Amherst to Begin Water Main Flushing April 23

The Town of Amherst will begin its annual water main flushing program to clean the water distribution system on Monday, April 23, weather permitting. Town personnel will be flushing at various locations daily from 4 p.m. until finished, weekdays for four consecutive weeks, or until the flushing program is completed.

Most of campus should not be affected. However, some campus facilities, especially those on the periphery of campus, may experience some water discoloration and/or lower water pressure than usual. In the event of discoloration, the Town of Amherst has advised that you open your faucet fully and allow water to run until it is clears.
