Steven Grossman, State Treasurer and Candidate for Governor, to Tour Campus, Conduct Open Forum

Massachusetts Treasurer Steven Grossman, a Democratic candidate for governor, will visit the UMass Amherst campus on Wednesday, April 23 to tour facilities including the Life Science Laboratories and Goessman Laboratory and to conduct a forum on topics including student debt, internships and job and housing opportunities for graduates.

Noon:Grossman and state Sen. Stan Rosenberg, D-Amherst, arrive at Life Science Laboratories, where they will be greeted by Chancellor Kumble R. Subbaswamy and other campus leaders.

12:05-12:20 p.m.: Subbaswamy and Vice Chancellor Mike Malone will lead a discussion of research on campus focusing on the campus life science strategy.

12:20-12:45 p.m.: Walking tour led by Subbaswamy and Rosenberg around campus, ending at Goessmann Laboratory for discussion of deferred maintenance.

12:45-1:20 p.m.: Open forum, Student Union Ballroom. Treasurer Grossman introduced by Senator Rosenberg for discussion and question-and-answer session open to students, faculty and staff.

1:20-1:30 p.m.: Media availability for Grossman.
