The design and development team behind the Giving website has been awarded a gold medal by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District I.

The staff who worked on the award-winning website are Brian DeVore, web designer/production manager, Claudia Donald, senior director of online communications, Judith Cameron, communication writer/editor, and copy editor Laura Gomes, all of University Relations, and Elizabeth Raffaele, senior director of development communications in the Development Office.

The Giving website serves as an interactive and dynamic digital resource for information about campus priorities with the primary goal to inspire visitors to consider the importance of philanthropic gifts to UMass Amherst. The redesigned website, which launched in May of 2016, was commissioned to replace the digital presence for the university’s capital campaign, UMass Rising, and present an ongoing digital communication channel for continuing and cultivating the growth of philanthropy.

The secondary goal of the site is to provide the entire development staff and key leadership volunteers who work on fundraising activities with a tool to support their efforts on behalf of the institution. Specifically, the site serves the Office of Development and Alumni Relations and the university’s primary fundraising organization, the University of Massachusetts Amherst Foundation.

CASE District I includes institutions in the six New England states, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec
