Spring semester ESL classes offered

The Division of Continuing Education is offering four 10-week, non-credit English as a Second Language classes during the spring semester.

The classes are as follows:

ESL 25, “Spoken English for Everyday Life in America,” for students with intermediate to advanced levels of English proficiency, will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-9 p.m., Feb. 15 to April 28. Cost: $225. An interview is required; call 545-2484 for an appointment.

ESL 35, “American English: Advanced Pronunciation/Conversation Improvement,” for students with high-intermediate to advanced levels of English proficiency, will meet Mondays and Wednesdays, 7-9 p.m., Feb. 14 to May 11. Cost: $225. An interview is required; call 545-2484 for an appointment.

ESL 40, “English as a Second Language: Writing for Academic Purposes,” will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-9 p.m., Feb. 15 to April 28. Cost: $325. Students should submit a short writing sample by e-mail to progcoord@contined.umass.edu.

ESL 45, “Beginning/Intermediate Writing for All Purposes: Daily Living and Academic,” will meet Mondays and Wednesdays, 7-9 p.m., Feb. 14 to May 11. Cost: $325. Students should submit a short writing sample by e-mail to progcoord@contined.umass.edu.
