A student-led solidarity rally organized in response to the violence that erupted at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., as well as the planned elimination of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, will take place Tuesday, Sept. 12 from noon to 1 p.m. outside the Student Union.
At the event, which is called UMass United, students are encouraged to “support one another and cultivate healing relationships across campus,” according to rally organizers. A rain date is set for Sept. 13.
UMass United is organized by the Student Government Association (SGA), Center for Education Policy Advocacy (CEPA), Graduate Student Senate, Graduate Employee Organization (GEO) and the International Socialist Organization in Western Mass.
