Manisha Sinha, professor of Afro-American studies, will speak on “A Covenant with Death? The Abolitionist Debate over the U.S. Constitution” on Sept. 19 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Sinha is the author of the “The Counterrevolution of Slavery: Politics and Ideology in Antebellum South Carolina,” and the forthcoming “The Slave’s Cause: Abolition and the Origins of American Democracy” and editor – with Afro-American Studies professor John Bracey – of “African American Mosaic: A Documentary History from the African Slave Trade to The Twenty First Century, Vols. I and II.”
