Robinson to oversee campus emergency management

Donald Robinson has been named special assistant to the vice chancellor for Administration and Finance for Campus Emergency Management. He will continue as director of Environmental Health and Safety, according to Vice Chancellor Joyce Hatch.

In his new role, said Hatch, Robinson will coordinate the development and implementation of a process to prepare for emergencies, mitigate their impact and manage recovery operations.

“Don’s capabilities make him an excellent choice to lead this effort,” said Hatch, citing his 30-plus years of campus experience in environmental health and safety. She noted that Robinson also is a registered professional engineer, graduated from the GE Corporate Management Program and holds a doctorate from Industrial Engineering and Operations Research program. He was vice president of the National Safety Council for Campus Safety and currently heads the board of directors of the safety Council of Western Massachusetts.
