AMHERST, Mass. - Regan Communications, the largest privately owned public relations firm in the Northeast, is seeking qualified undergraduate and graduate students to apply for summer internship positions in its Boston office. These full-time and part-time positions are available to University of Massachusetts Amherst students through an arrangement with the university’s Office of News and Media Relations. The application deadline is Thursday, April 23, 2009.
Responsibilities will include providing public relations support, drafting news releases, interacting with local and national media, compiling media lists, coordinating special events, and general office work such as phoning, faxing, Internet research, filing, and driving in and around Boston.

Candidates should be self-starters with a polished, professional appearance who demonstrate initiative and creativity. Excellent oral and written skills as well as a driver’s license are required. The internship is unpaid, but students will have the opportunity to earn course credit. Preference will be given to candidates who can work as student assistants in the Office of News and Media Relations during the academic year.
