A one-day, low-cost Safety and Health conference with sessions focused toward general industry organizations with both safety and health educational tracks, is being held on campus Thursday, June 26.
The program is being co-hosted by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Region 1, the Western Mass. Section of the ASSE CT Valley Chapter, the OSHA Training Institute of Keene, N.H., and UMass Amherst.
The steering committee has secured many regionally and nationally known speakers for the event. Session topics are designed to complement many of the current OSHA initiatives, emphasis programs and campaigns such as: Temporary and New Workers, Workplace Violence, Active Threat of Violence Training, Noise Monitoring and Awareness, Fleet Safety, Health Hazard “Peak” Exposures and their evaluation/control, Aging Workforce and Ergonomic Issues, Conducting Arc Flash Analysis for PPE Assessment and an OSHA Case Study Roundtable and a Confined Space Emergency Response demonstration.
The cost is $30 for registrations made before May 30 and $55 thereafter.
