Opening Reception Planned for Public Art Project by Jennifer Williams

An opening reception for a public art project featuring a two-part photographic collage of the campus by artist Jennifer Williams is being held Wednesday, July 23 from 5-7 p.m. at the south facade of the Fine Arts Center.

The fragmented images on the banners span a century of the campus’ architectural expressions, referencing its growth from an agricultural college to a research university.

The University Museum of Contemporary Art convened a committee of students, staff and faculty who selected the Brooklyn artist to create the 12-foot by 24-foot works.

The Summer Art Project, in collaboration with the Summer Program, celebrates the academic activities on campus ─ from language courses for international students to the New England Regional Soil Science Certificate Program.
