AMHERST, Mass. – The online graduate nursing program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst tied for 15th place nationally, and the graduate Science Education Online program is tied 78th place in the latest ranking from U.S. News & World Report.
In both programs, classes are recorded and archived so students can access them on their own time.
For the 2015 Best Online Programs listing, the magazine ranked 129 schools that offered online nursing programs and 252 that offered online graduate education programs.
Weighted factors used in the ranking process were student engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer reputation, student services and technology, and admissions selectivity. The weighting varied among programs.
The UMass Amherst online graduate nursing program scored an overall 88 out of 100 points. The program scored 97 for faculty credentials and training. The Science Education Online program, a collaboration with the College of Natural Sciences, scored an overall 68.
