Obituary: Robert A. Martula, Retired Maintenance Manager at UHS

Robert A. Martula, 74, of Florence Road, retired maintenance and housekeeping supervisor at University Health Services, died July 15 at home.

Born in Florence, he was raised in Hadley and graduated from Hopkins Academy in 1957.

He worked on campus for 41 years, retiring in 2002.

He leaves his wife Sharon (Arthur) Martula; his son Christopher Martula of Bridgeport, Conn., his three daughters, Michelle Kashalena of Bourne, Danielle Kowal of Southampton, and Jennifer Delaney of Easthampton, and six grandchildren.

Calling hours are Friday, July 18 from 5-9 p.m. at the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton.

A funeral will be held Saturday, July 19 at 9 a.m. from the Ahearn Funeral Home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Annunciation Chapel of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, 85 Beacon St., Florence. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
