Richard J. Potter, 31, of Belchertown, a former departmental assistant in the Meal Plan Office, died Aug. 1 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
Born in Ware, he was a lifelong resident of Belchertown, where he attended local schools.
He leaves his mother, Patricia (Berry) Potter of Belchertown; his fiancee, Rebecca Hayes, and their daughter, Sabrina Potter, of Belchertown; two sisters, a brother and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. in the Belchertown Congregational Church followed by burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Calling hours are Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Beers & Story Funeral Home, 10 Maple St., Belchertown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to a fund in memory of Richard Potter, to help support and care for his daughter, c/o Country Bank, Ware 01082.
