Peter H. DeBruyn, 78, of Southampton, and North Fort Myers, Fla., a retired plumber and steamfitter at Physical Plant, died April 10 at Baystate Medical Center after a long illness.
Born and raised in Quincy, he was a Navy veteran, serving on the U.S.S. Antietam in 1955, then worked at the Naval Shipyard at Quincy. After earning his master plumber’s license, he worked as a plumber, joining Physical Plant in 1992. He retired in 2000.
He leaves his wife, Sandra Lang DeBruyn, two daughters, Ellen DeBruyn of Southampton, and Linda DeBruyn of Maynard; a son, Stephen of Vernon, Conn., five grandchildren, two brothers and several nieces and nephews.
