Joseph L. Sardinas, 70, of Ocala, Fla., professor emeritus of accounting, died April 6 in a plane crash while filming a movie in Summerfield, Fla.
Born in Tampa, Fla., he was a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he earned his B.S. and MBA. He received in Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Germany.
He joined the faculty in 1975 and taught courses on computer-based information systems.
He was a member of the American Accounting Association, Association for Computing Machinery and the Society for Management Information Systems.
He retired in 2003.
