Donald P. McMahon, 68, of Ludlow, a retired senior analyst and programmer with the University Information Systems unit of the President’s Office, died June 28 of cancer.
Born in Greenfield, he attended Greenfield schools and after graduation enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he graduated from North Adams State College and then earned his MBA from Western New England College. He worked as an accountant for several years before making a career change to work in information technology.
He retired from University service in 2007.
He leaves his wife of nearly 32 years, Susan (Rodrigues) McMahon and a son, Jason D. McMahon, two brothers-in-law, four nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews and seven great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3 at 11 a.m. at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow. Rites of Committal with military honors will follow at Island Pond Cemetery, Center St, Ludlow.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, July 2 from 4-7 p.m.
