Daniel E. Kibe, 64, of Northampton, a retired technical specialist II in the food science department, died July 29 at home.
Born in Pennsylvania, he was raised and educated in Westfield. He graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture with a science degree.
He worked on campus for 36 years.
He was also a retired Air Force master sergeant, serving with the 439th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron at Westover Air Force Base. He received numerous commendations and citations including, the Korean Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air Force Expeditionary Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Operation Nobel Eagle/Enduring Freedom and the Iraqi Freedom Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
He leaves his wife of 32 years, Carolyn (Yancey) Kibe and his mother Norma Hall of Northampton, a sister, three sisters-in-law two brothers-in-law, eight nieces and nephews, 12 great-nieces and nephews and many relatives and friends.
Calling hours are Sunday, Aug. 3 from 2-4 p.m. at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton, 173 North St. A funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton followed by burial with full military honors in Bridge Street Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Dakin Animal Shelter, VNA & Hospice of Cooley Dickinson, World War II Club or the Cooley Dickinson Hospital Cancer Center.
