D. Craig Edwards, 65, of Leverett, a retired professor of Biology, died Nov. 8 at home.
Born in Clearfield, Pa., he graduated with distinction from Swarthmore College in 1961 and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Scripps Oceanographic Institute in La Jolla, Calif., before joining the Zoology Department here in 1966. He retired in September 2002 after more than 35 years of service.
He leaves a brother, Keith Edwards, of Rocky River, Ohio; a sister, Jane Vincent, of London, England; three nieces, a grand-niece; his former wife, Lee Edwards of Amherst; and a daughter, Hilary Alison Edwards-Lithgow, of Jupiter, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
