Carol Ann Cox, 62, of Amherst, a retired clerk for the Committee for the Collegiate Education of Black and other Minority Students, died Aug. 4 at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton.
Born in New Britain, Conn., she moved to Amherst in 1949 and was a graduate of Amherst Regional High School.
She served the University for more than 34 years, earning a Chancellor’s Citation for outstanding performance. She retired in 2002.
She leaves three sons, Warren T. Cox of Waldorf, Md., Matthew M. Cox of Philadelphia, and Joel E. Cox of Springfield; four brothers, two sisters, three grandchildren and niece and nephews.
