Obituary: Barbara J. Frost, Retired EDP Operator in Registrar’s Office

Barbara Jean (Hunt) Frost, 79, of Pelham, a retired electronic data processing operator I in the Registrar’s Office, died Feb. 20 at home.

Born in Ware, she spent her early years growing up in the town of Enfield, and moved to Pelham in 1938, when the state flooded the Swift River Valley to create the Quabbin Reservoir.

She graduated from Amherst High School in 1952 and worked at the Boiler Equipment Trust in Pelham, A.W. Hastings Company/V.P. Winter Company in Northampton and Hatfield for 28 and a half years before joining the campus staff in 1982. She retired in 1998 and then worked at the former Sunbridge of Hadley until 2010.

She leaves her husband Howard Frost; her two daughters, Laura Hall and Brenda Frost, both of Pelham, two grandsons and a sister. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Douglass Funeral Service, Amherst. A calling hour will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Quabbin Park Cemetery in Ware in the spring.
