Rebecca Richards, civil liberties and privacy director for the National Security Agency (NSA), will discuss balancing privacy and national security on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 5:30 p.m. in the Great Hall, Old Chapel.
Richards, a UMass Amherst alumna, will provide insight on the complex topic of privacy and security and share how our nation may accomplish privacy protections and national security at the same time.
“The idea of choosing one or the other—security or privacy is a false narrative,” she says.
Join the conversation and learn about the purpose of the NSA, privacy protections of US citizens and why privacy protections are important.
