Nagurney Co-Organizes International Conference on Dynamics of Disasters

Anna Nagurney, the John F. Smith Memorial Professor of Operations Management at the Isenberg School of Management, has co-organized the 3rd International Conference on Dynamics of Disasters to be held in Kalamata, Greece, July 5-9.

Conference co-organizers are: Fuad Aleskerov of the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia; Ilias S. Kotsireas of Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Canada; and Panos M. Pardalos of the University of Florida Gainesville.

Speakers at the conference include academics as well as practitioners and hail from North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Nagurney will present two papers at the conference: “A Variational Equilibrium Network Framework for Humanitarian Organizations in Disaster Relief: Effective Product Delivery Under Competition for Financial Funds,” co-authored with Patrizia Daniele, Emilio Alvarez Flores and Valeria Carusa, and “A Multitiered Supply Chain Network Equilibrium Model for Disaster Relief with Capacitated Freight Service Provision.”

Flores is a 2016 Isenberg School Commonwealth Honors College alum and honors graduate.
