Three members of the department of music and dance were interviewed on WGBY TV’s Connecting Point recently about the 2017 UMass Amherst Bach Festival and Symposium, which takes place this weekend and is highlighted April 22 and 23 by renowned conductor Simon Carrington leading the UMass Amherst Festival Orchestra and Chorus in two performances of Bach’s epic “Mass in B Minor.”
Interviewed by program host Jim Madigan were Roberta M. Marvin, department chair and professor; Erinn Knyt, professor music history, main organizer of the symposium events and a Symposium presenter; and William Hite, senior lecturer in voice, one of the three primary organizers of the festival concerts and a featured soloist in the B Minor Mass.
