Minuteman Marching Band director Timothy Anderson and current band members will host a reception on Monday, March 20 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the University of Massachusetts Club in Boston.
The band is raising money to replace its old uniforms in time for their apperance in the 2018 Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif.
The $25 per-person cost includes appetizers and one free drink. The band members will perform.
To date, more than $118,000 has been raised toward the $160,000 cost of replacing the 370-member band’s tattered 15-year-old uniforms in time the Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan. 1. The parade is watched by millions around the world.
“This will be the biggest audience the UMass Amherst band has ever been in front of,” Anderson said.
