The Minuteman Marching Band, led by director Timothy Anderson, will host more than 100 college marching and athletic band directors from across the nation for the College Band Directors National Association’s (CBDNA) annual Athletic Bands Symposium May 31-June 3.

Representatives from a variety of schools, including Florida State, Johns Hopkins, UC Berkeley, and the University of Connecticut will take part in clinics and sessions addressing pedagogical and administrative issues in the current collegiate band profession.

This marks the only second time that the symposium has been in New England.

The keynote address will be delivered by UMass Amherst alumnus Bob Morrison, founder and CEO of Quadrant Research. Morrison is the former CEO of VH1’s Save The Music Foundation and served in a leadership role in creating the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. He co-authored “Championship Concepts for Marching Percussion” with Minuteman Band associate director Thom Hannum.

The Minuteman Marching Band, which has earned numerous awards as one of the nation’s outstanding band programs, has been chosen to perform in the 2018 Tournament of Roses Parade.
