AMHERST, Mass. – A workshop on “Pruning Blueberries” will be presented Saturday, March 18, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Nicewicz Family Farm, 116 Sawyer Rd., Bolton.
Sonia Schloemann of UMass Extension will lead the session, which is part of the Mass Aggie Seminars, a series of hands-on workshops on home gardening topics.
Blueberries are among the most popular fruits to grow in the home garden and are well suited to grow in New England conditions. Participants will get hands-on training on pruning blueberries at home and will learn about tool maintenance and sharpening techniques. Tools will be provided, but participants can also bring their own.
The workshop will be held out of doors, so participants should dress appropriately for potentially wet, cold and muddy conditions.
The cost of the seminar is $35. Register at http://ag.umass.edu/fruit/mass-aggie-seminars-2017.
