Martin Allor, professor of communication studies at Montreal’s Concordia University, will speak on “Actuality and Re-mediation: Documentary, Epistemology and Intermedia Circulation” on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 12:15 p.m. in 905 Lincoln Campus Center.

His talk will examine the cumulative effects of the blurring of the boundaries between informational, fictional, promotional and entertainment forms of the documentary field and also how recent innovations like digital video and streaming Internet technologies have broadened the availability of production and distribution of documentary material and have begun to challenge the existing modes of documentary “from below.”

The program, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Center for the Study of Communication.
