John Hopkins Dean Katherine Newman is Finalist for Provost

Katherine Newman, the James B. Knapp Dean of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and professor of sociology at Johns Hopkins University, has been selected as a finalist for senior vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost.

The search committee, chaired by Julie Hayes, dean of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts, has scheduled a public forum with Newman on Wednesday, April 2 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in  168C Campus Center. All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend.

Newman holds a doctorate in anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, and previously served as the Malcolm Stevenson Forbes 1941 Professor of Sociology and Public Affairs at Princeton University.
